Weight gain is one of the most common complaints with so many seeking ways to reach a body composition they are happy with. This full-day seminar will give practitioners working with complex cases and those seeking answers in regards to problems with their weight, the tools they need to understand how to get lasting results with nutrition and lifestyle changes.
- Stress hormone testing and how this links with sleep, recovery and exercise in relation to fat loss
- Nutritional analysis through blood – how do you do this and what the results show that link with weight reduction
- Hormone testing and how imbalances cause weight gain
- The microbiome – how bacteria, candida and parasitic infections affect our weight, how to test for them and what to do with the results.
- Self sabotage – why do people not follow your advice and ruin their progress
- A number of other things along the way such as food sensitivity, insulin modulation, glycemic loading and more will be covered.
There will be a review and explanation of a variety of objective tests that can be used to answer these questions and devise a strategic plan to rectify imbalances. Blood, hormones, saliva, stool, saliva and heart rate variability can all be used to identify physiological dysfunctions that are inhibiting progress. Use of handheld blood monitors along with other ways of measuring muscle mass, fat percentage and distribution will be reviewed and demonstrated. Understanding when to refer to medical and other practitioners will also be covered.
NB: Exercise prescription and exercise programme design will not be discussed, apart from rules to adapt basic principles based on blood test results.
Course participants will:
