The aim of this one-day course is to help practitioners gain an understanding of the HPA (Hypothalamic, Pituitary, Adrenal) axis, how to measure it, and how to then tailor personalised nutrition, behavioural and lifestyle strategies based on the results.
The course will provide practical examples throughout.
By the end of the session practitioners will:
Understand HPA axis function and how it can go wrong
How to measure it using blood, saliva and urine tests
Be able to distinguish between the best methods of testing
Provide advice and guidance to their clients on how to balance the HPA axis
Understand “adrenal fatigue” and how to address it
Gain an understanding of how stress, exercise and other lifestyle factors can impact HPA axis function
